Johanna Pichlmair, Violinist
Who did I shoot?
Johanna Pichlmair, 2nd prize winner of the Concours Musical International de Montréal (CMIM) and violonist/member of the Symphonieorchester des Bayrischen Rundfunks.
Why did we shoot?
We connected at CMIM over the fact that we both spoke German. At the gala, I told her I’d be passing by Munich this summer and asked her if she wanted to do a portrait session. She was all-in.
Where did we shoot?
Munich is an interesting city - full of modern buildings right next to historic old ones. Remembering her stunning red dress from the CMIM gala, and learning about the quaint Nymphenburger Castle in the Nymphenburger Schlosspark, we decided it was the perfect time to shoot there.
Useful to know
Matching your outfit to your eyes is very likely going to look stunning. In Johanna’s case, she had brought a blue blouse which looks amazing with her blue eyes.
Johanna had only slept three hours the night before - it had been a rough week. Not fun, just a fact.
The red gown is actually a bit too large for her. At the competition, it had to be sewed tighter. At the shoot, we simply tucked it best we could behind her back.
Until next time,
